Faatin's Groom Reception - 24092011

So happy when I received a call from my recently married friend Faatin a few days ago.
She wanted to hire me as her makeup artist for her reception on her husband's side.
Fyi, I was down with fever & flu for the pass few days, so I was quite worried that I could not deliver my service due to my health condition.
But thanks to Allah, alhamdulillah, I was feeling quite ok for that day.
No running nose, no coughing, although I was not fully recovered.
Everything went well with our little session, although it ran a little bit late because I arrived late, lost in directions earlier.

Anywho, here are the photos, Faatin wore a bright red dress, so I paired it with maroon-ish bronzy eye makeup with red lips. Enjoy!

Nora's Solemnization - 26032011

Hi all.
This weekend, I had two sessions, one for a solemnization ceremony, & one for a reception for the same bride.
She is actually my returning customer.
I did the makeup for her engagement awhile ago, and she hired me again to do her wedding this time. :)
I am so thankful, at least I know one person who actually like my work.
She booked me a few months ago for all three ceremonies, her solemnization, and both her & his receptions.

Initially, I wanted to share two of our sessions in one post, but I accidentally forgot to bring my camera on Sunday, and only manage to share pictures of the first session this time.
Hopefully she will email me some photos of the second makeup soon.

One thing I love working with this girl is that she is very specific in what she wanted.
She sent me photos of the hairstyles she wanted way back when, and she prepared some reference photos for the makeup that she want for all three events.
I don't have to worry whether my smoky eyes is too dark for her or my foundation is too thick for her.
I just pick up some inspiration from the collage of makeup references, and go with it.

Anyway, for her solemnization ceremony, she wanted a simple fresh faced makeup with light brown on the eyes and glowing skin.
For the hair, she wanted a half up-do, with romantic curls going down the back.
I sort of did Taylor Swift's curls on her and pinned half of it up messily.

Ekspo Kahwin KL, Wangsa Walk Mall - 06032011

Made a couple of makeovers yesterday during the Ekspo Kahwin KL, held at Wangsa Walk Mall for 3 whole days from the 4th to th 6th of MArch, 2011..
The event was organized by Mosyas company, thanks to Kiki & Iz, for their hard work.

There was a fashion going on at 5.30 pm that day, I sent a model, Aida down the runway.
Makeup of course by me, Ekyn Nikiys, and the dress is from our collection, Enchanted Weddings.

Salina's Bridal Party - 17.10.2010

I was introduces to Salina by my dear friend Dean a.k.a Qish (She's a great cupcakes baker).
So this job is credited to you Dean. Thanks girl.
Salina asked me to do the hair and makeup for the bridal party (i.e. Mother & Sister of the Bride, and the bridesmaids).
With the help of my sister, Elyna (she did most of the hair-do), we manage to get 5 people in total, ready for their _ _ _ _ _ (Insert: daughter's/sister's/cousin's/friend's) big day.

Pertandingan Andaman Pameran Pengantin Malaysia KLCC 2010

So again I entered another bridal makeup contest which was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre last weekend.
But sadly, it wasn't my luck.

Engagement Makeup with Nora- 25.09.2010

I had no problems with her.
She was very specific with want she want for both the hair and makeup (yes, I did both).
She booked me a few week before Ramadhan, and forwarded and picture of a simple messy up-do.
And for the makeup, she show me a picture just before we start our session.
She wanted something fresh and nothing to heavy.

So for the skin, she had no problems, I just used my Revlon's Photoready Foundation (my love...) to give her clear and dewy complexion.
Eyes as explain above.

She is a very sweet and friendly girl. I lovely doing her makeup.
Her skin was pretty much clear except for a couple of zits (due to engagement stress??).
Anyway, nothing to heavy, she requested a very simple & light look, with just a tiny bit of smoke.
She did not want to offend any of the relative with too much makeup she said. =))
So here is the makeup, and again I did not manage to snap the before photo (as usual).

2nd Place in Pertandingan Andaman Pameran Pengantin Malaysia - 04.07.10

Hye guys.
Good morning. =)
If you have been following my blog, you would probably already know that I was going to enter a bridal makeup contest on the 4th.
Well, I did enter it yesterday. It was held at Midvalley Exhibition Center.

For this contest, I know in my mind that I wanted to do an arabic look.
But of course, before I could do the look, I need a suitable dress to go with the makeup look.
I've asked around if any of my family members have anything in their wardrobe that could pass an arabic bridal dress.
My cousin, suggested a few, and also my aunt.
But at last I found one in my sister's closet, a bright fuchsia pink jubah.
I was actually looking for something in white, but since I love to play with colors, I changed my mind and used that instead.

So that morning, the day of the contest, we went to City One Plaza to look for a matching hijab and veil.
So, we found a same colored, Syrian styled hijab.
Next, looking for a veil.
In the midst of trying a few different ones, I saw something else.
It was some sort of a bib, decorated with beads and sequins and I thought that it was perfect just to amp up my dress.
I got one in a bright pink color and bought a fuchsia pink veil as well.
So, off to Midvalley we go!!

My model for this time is my cousin, Faten.
We were contestant number 3.
She had great skin, but the only challenge for me here is her asymmetrical eyes.
The contest started at 4.30 and ended at 5.30 pm.
Then it was time to do some catwalking and all that fun stuff.
After that, the judges had some time to evaluate.
Oh, one of the judges was Nurin, from Nurin Makeover.
I love her work. =)

So after a little pass 6.00, they announced the top three winner, starting with 2nd placing.
And guess who?
It was none other than moi! =D
Happy, happy time!!

So yeah, that was it.
I changed namecards with a few people.
It was an unforgettable moment for me.
My family was there, my mom and dad, bro and sis, except for Scha, who is away in college right now.
My aunt came with her daughter, my model was my cousin.
It really was a family event that day.

This post is way long, but I just wanted to share every moment with you guys.
